Neither Rain Nor Sleet Nor Crocodiles

God loves people. For this reason it matters greatly that people know about Jesus, God’s greatest gift.

President Denys Blackmore
Denys Blackmore, President of EHC Canada, is discussing the systematic presentation of gospel messages home by home with EHC leaders.

Two young EHC workers were on a remote mission assignment on a South Pacific island. They were systematically going from home to home, making sure that everyone heard about Jesus. Finishing one village, they noticed another across the river. Their mission was to go to every home and the absence of a boat was not going to stop them.

They tied a few logs together, placed their gospel messages on the logs and started to wade into the water. A village elder rushed to them, shouting, “What are you doing?” The young men explained and the elder shook his head. No one, not even a dog, had ever crossed that river of crocodiles and come back alive. Determined to go, the young men began to pray, claiming God’s protection just like he protected Daniel.

They plunged into the water, legs thrashing to propel the logs. The old man at the side of the river could hardly watch, expecting disaster at any moment. But the young men, by the power of God, made it to the other side without incident.

The men were willing to risk their lives to introduce the person of Jesus Christ to a remote and neglected village. They brought the Good News to a group of people who had never heard.

EHC is dedicated to reaching the entire world and bringing the message of Christ to people in every home. And we continue to walk forward in faith. With the help of faithful supporters like you, over the past year alone, nearly 400 million people have received a gospel message right where they live. We are following up one response every two seconds of every day!

I want you to know that your prayers and financial support are the backbone of EHC. Because of them we are able to produce gospel messages that volunteers bring from home to home so that everyone, everywhere, has the opportunity to meet Jesus personally.
